Is the iOS app free?
Yes — the app is free to download from the App Store. Free accounts include 3,000 credits. Upgrade for more credits and additional translation engines.
Which devices are supported?
The app works on iPhone and iPad running iOS 16 or later. It is optimized for all screen sizes including iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPad Pro.
Does it support Apple Watch?
Apple Watch support is on our roadmap. Currently the app is available for iPhone and iPad. Use the Feature Requests page to vote for Watch support.
How does iCloud sync work?
Your translation history, starred translations, and preferences sync automatically via iCloud when you are signed in to the same Apple ID. No setup required.
Can I translate documents on iPad?
Yes. Upload documents directly from the Files app and translate them within Adara Translate. Supported formats include PDF, DOCX, and TXT files.
Is my data private?
Absolutely. Text is sent to DeepL's API for translation and is never stored. We follow Apple's App Privacy guidelines. You can lock the app with Face ID or Touch ID.
Does the camera translation require internet?
Camera OCR text recognition works on-device using Apple's Vision framework. However, the actual translation requires an internet connection to reach our DeepL-powered API for the highest quality results.
Can I use Siri Shortcuts with the app?
Siri Shortcuts integration is planned for a future update. You will be able to trigger translations with voice commands and create custom automation workflows.
