Supported Formats
Adara Translate supports the following document formats for translation:
- PDF — Text-based PDFs. Scanned images require OCR preprocessing.
- DOCX — Microsoft Word documents with formatting preserved.
- XLSX — Excel spreadsheets. Text in cells is translated while formulas and structure remain intact.
- PPTX — PowerPoint presentations. Slide text is translated, layouts are preserved.
- CSV — Plain text data files. Specify which columns to translate.
- SRT — Subtitle files. Timestamps are preserved, only text is translated.
Upload Limits
Free accounts can upload files up to 5 MB. Pro accounts support files up to 20 MB, and Business accounts up to 50 MB. If your file exceeds the limit, consider splitting it or upgrading your plan.
How to Translate a Document
Navigate to the Document Translation page. Click Upload or drag and drop your file. Select the source and target languages, choose an engine, and click Translate. Processing time depends on file size and engine.
Formatting Preservation
Adara Translate extracts text from the document, translates it, and reassembles the file with original formatting. For DOCX and PPTX, headings, bold text, bullet points, and tables are preserved. PDF output maintains the layout as closely as possible.
Downloading Results
Once processing is complete, a download link appears. The translated file is in the same format as the original. Files are available for download for 24 hours, after which they are permanently deleted from our servers.
Tips for Best Results
- Use DOCX instead of PDF when possible for better formatting preservation.
- Apply a glossary to maintain consistent terminology across long documents.
- For large documents, translate a sample page first to verify quality.
- Ensure PDFs contain selectable text, not scanned images.
