Understanding Translation Credits

Learn how credits work, what different operations cost, and how to track your usage across free and paid plans.

How Credits Work

Credits are the currency of Adara Translate. Every translation, document conversion, transcription, and dubbing job consumes credits based on the size of the input and the engine used.

What Costs Credits

  • Text translation — Charged per character. A 500-character paragraph typically costs 1 credit.
  • Document translation — Charged based on extracted text length. A 10-page PDF may cost 20-50 credits depending on density.
  • Audio transcription — Charged per minute of audio. One minute equals approximately 2 credits.
  • Video dubbing — Charged per minute of output audio, with costs varying by voice and language.

Free Tier

Every new account starts with free credits that renew monthly. The free tier is designed to let you explore all features, test different engines, and decide which plan suits your workflow before committing.

Paid Plans

Paid plans provide larger monthly credit pools, priority processing, and access to premium engines. Visit the Pricing page for a full comparison of plan tiers, credit amounts, and additional perks like team seats and glossary limits.

Tracking Your Usage

Your dashboard shows a real-time credit balance, a daily usage chart, and a breakdown by operation type. You can also view per-engine costs to understand which engines consume the most credits relative to their output quality.

Credit Pooling for Teams

On team plans, credits are shared across all team members from a single pool. The team owner can view individual member usage and set limits to prevent any one member from consuming the entire balance.

Running Low?

When your balance drops below 10%, you receive an email notification. You can upgrade your plan at any time. Unused credits on paid plans do not roll over to the next billing cycle, so plan your usage accordingly.
