Video Dubbing Guide

Dub videos into multiple languages using ElevenLabs voice synthesis with natural-sounding results.

What Is Video Dubbing?

Video dubbing replaces the original spoken audio in a video with a translated version in a different language. Adara Translate uses ElevenLabs voice synthesis to produce natural-sounding dubbed audio that matches the tone and pacing of the original.

Supported Formats

  • MP4 — The standard video format for most use cases.
  • MOV — Common in Apple and professional video workflows.
  • WEBM — Web-native format for online content.

How It Works

The dubbing pipeline consists of several steps:

  • Transcription — The original audio is transcribed to text using Whisper.
  • Translation — The transcript is translated to the target language.
  • Voice synthesis — ElevenLabs generates spoken audio from the translated text.
  • Timing alignment — The dubbed audio is synced to the original video timeline.

Choosing a Voice

ElevenLabs offers a library of voices in different styles: professional, casual, energetic, calm, and more. Select a voice that matches your brand or content tone. For consistent results across a video series, use the same voice for every episode in a given language.

Language Support

Dubbing is available for 20+ languages with high-quality voices. English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, and Japanese have the largest voice libraries. Additional languages are added regularly.

Upload and Processing

Navigate to the Video Dubbing page, upload your video, select the target language and voice, and click Start Dubbing. Processing time depends on video length. A 5-minute video typically takes 3-5 minutes to process.

Quality Checklist

  • Listen for correct pronunciation of names and technical terms.
  • Verify timing alignment with scene changes and speaker turns.
  • Check audio levels to ensure the dubbed voice is balanced with background music.
  • Test playback on both mobile and desktop before publishing.

Credit Cost

Dubbing is charged per minute of output audio. Costs vary by voice and language. Check the pricing table on the dubbing page for detailed rates before starting a job.
